First off, I am glad the weekend is here..AND I am really glad that the heatwave seems to be breaking and we are due for slightly cooler, less humid temps. We did have a bit of Fall like weather last week that was just lovely! I could really go for that year round! This weekend we have our weekly Farmers Market so tonight will be spent picking , washing and packaging. We are growing a lot more this year and a wider variety since we knew we’d be participating in the farmers market.
This week we will have…
Rainbow Chard
Yukon Gold & Pontiac Red new potatoes
Zucchini (both green and yellow) – plus the round variety..8 ball and one ball.
Broccoli
Bell Peppers
Cucumbers
Beets (both red and golden)
Herbs of many varieties
Most of all we are looking forward to Sweet Corn..and not just any sweet corn but the sweetest corn you have ever eaten! Around here, we are known as the “Sweet corn people” lol. We’re less than 10 days from harvest and we love that people come from a state away to get it and its nice having people tell you how good it is..because all of our produce is grown with love, care and no chemicals..and its very labor intensive but for anyone who hobby farms or gardens you know what a labor of love it is..
After that I am not sure what we’ll do. We might head up to the lake to visit with Uncle Bill who is visiting from Boston since he heads home Monday and we might do some shopping on Sunday…being from NYC I NEED to go where there is some civilization and well a mall sometimes! Where we live..its Wal Mart or Meijer..which is just an upscale..well a bit nicer kind of Wal Mart..
some pictures from this week..

So now I will go off and finish the laundry, figure out what to make for dinner and have a cup of coffee. I’d love one of those Fridays where I get to stay in my pj’s with some good coffee and a book or a movie but this whole living on a farm thing can be kind of hectic..its times like this that I really look forward to Fall arriving ..then our downtime begins
Have a super Friday!

Your produce sounds delish. Especially the golden beets. YUM! Great photos, too. :)
